Héroes Del Silencio – Entre Dos Tierras

The Héroes del Silencio (commonly known as Héroes or HDS) were a Spanish rock band from Zaragoza, Aragón, founded by guitarist Juan Valdivia and singer Enrique Bunbury.

The line-up was completed by bassist Joaquín Cardiel and drummer Pedro Andreu. In the 1980s they enjoyed success throughout Spain and America, as well as in various European countries, including Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, France, Yugoslavia and Portugal. They have established themselves as a major player on the Rock en español scene and are considered one of the best bands in the genre. Their trademarks are complex lyrics, intricate instrumentation and precise rhythm. In 1996, after twelve years and several albums, the band disbanded. When singer Enrique Bunbury embarked on a solo project, the rest of the band followed a different musical path. In 2007, as part of the celebrations for their 20th anniversary and 11 years after their break-up, they organised a 10-show world tour.

The band’s speciality was a very distinctive image, with its own iconography and symbolism, and a music characterised by ambiguous and transcendental lyrics, complex arpeggios and a solid rhythmic basis. His influences include William Blake, Charles Baudelaire, Led Zeppelin and The Cult.

In 2021, Netflix premiered Heroes: Silencio and Rock & Roll, a documentary film that tells the full story of the band as told by its members.

Heroes del Silencio: Entre dos tierras

Lyrics

No seas membrillo y permite pasar
Y si no piensas echar atrás
Between two lands
You can sell yourself
Any offer is good if you want power
How easy it is
To open your mouth so wide to give your opinion
And if you’re thinking of backing out
You’ve got a lot of footprints to erase
Let me
I’m not to blame for seeing you fall
If it’s not my fault for seeing you fall
You lose faith
Any hope is vain and I don’t know what to believe
But forget me,
no one’s called you, you’re back again
Let me
I’m not to blame for seeing you fall
If it’s not my fault for seeing you
Between two lands you are
And you leave no air to breathe
Between two lands you are
And you leave no air to breathe
Let it go
Don’t be a quince and let it pass
And if you don’t plan to turn back
You’ve got a lot of mud to swallow
Let me
I’m not to blame for seeing you fall
If it’s not my fault for seeing you
Between two lands you are
And you leave no air to breathe
Between two lands you are
And you leave no air to breathe
Let me
I’m not to blame for seeing you fall
If it’s not my fault for seeing you
Between two lands you are
And you leave no air to breathe
Between two lands you are
And you leave no air to breathe
